BETTER TOGETHER

Fifty community leaders went back to school on October 20 to get a firsthand look at what it takes to lead one! ACF partnered with the Alamance Chamber, Impact Alamance, and ABSS to launch the county’s inaugural Principal for a Day program. Participants shadowed ABSS principals to learn about the opportunities, challenges, and successes in our schools and explore how schools and community partners can work together to help students thrive.

2026 ACF Community Grant recipient Bridging the Gap Community Development Corporation has a mission to connect and/or provide families with community resources to help build better tomorrows for present and future generations. One way they do this is through the We Care Pantry which provides nourishment and support to individuals and families facing food insecurity. We invite you to check out all of the recent ACF Community Grantees.

END OF YEAR GIVING AT ACF: PLANNING AHEAD

As you think about your charitable giving for 2026, a little planning can go a long way! If you plan to make a gift to a fund at Alamance Community Foundation, keep these important year-end deadlines in mind.

Stock gifts: Contact your broker and ACF by Monday, December 14.
Mailed gifts: Must be postmarked by Thursday, December 31.
Online gifts: Give by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, December 31.
Hand-delivered gifts: Bring your gift to our office by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30.

Stock transfers can take time, so we encourage you to get started early. Contact our office for stock transfer instructions or help planning your gift.

Congratulations to our September "Where in Alamance?" winner, Timmeka!

Timmeka correctly identified last month's mystery location (McMichael Science Center at Elon University) and selected Miracle Temple Church to receive a $100 grant from ACF.

When choosing this organization, Timmeka shared, "I would like to support this organization because of how they support the community and members in different ways including a choice-model food pantry."
