Dr. Charles Kernodle Scholarship Fund
Dr. Charles was a much beloved member of the Burlington community. The Dr. Charles Kernodle Scholarship was established in 2017 to honor Dr. Kernodle's 100th birthday and his 66 years of service as the doctor on the sidelines of the Walter M. Williams High School Football team by his family, his friends, and the Kernodle Clinic.
The award is given annually to a Williams High School senior member of the football team to attend any type of post high school education (university, college, community college or vocational training). The award is based on financial need and demonstrated personal characteristics of a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high moral character - all of which were characteristics of Dr. Kernodle.
